Organisations and Groups

 OMPowerment works with organisations, community activist groups, and outreach service providers to offer Organisational Wellbeing Trainings to inspire sustainable service through the prioritisation of staff and organisational wellbeing. 

This training was developed through personal experience of burnout in the activism space, with the goal of offering organisations and groups basic tools to improve overall personal and organisational wellness.

OMPowerment’s signature Conscious Activism training will support you in cultivating sustainable wellbeing culture and in innovating and organising change work for yourself and your groups and communities. We explore the connection between yoga and other healing practices, trauma and the collective factors which create and perpetuate trauma, and look at how to reduce these harmful patterns and act as advocates of positive change and equity within our commnities. In this training, we deepen our understanding of what Self Care means, and discuss ways in which we can balance our own personal care with the needs of the collective in a way that makes sustained healing possible. We also consider ways in which we can cultivate more resilience in approaching challenging issues.

Our core curriculum for groups and organisations includes:

  • Understanding, noticing, and healing from stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue

  • Reflective practice and community discussion space to share experience and bravely express any difficulties in maintaining the work


  • Developing and maintaining a personal practice of self care, including tools for self regulation

  • Understanding and implementing sustainable and inclusive programming 

 With an emphasis on understanding and identifying the impact of stress and learning how to regulate the nervous system to cultivate more resilience in approaching challenging issues, this training intends to strengthen and connect the work of organizations and communities, and provide a generative, emergent space for group discussion and inspiration.

In all of our training, we offer evidence-based practices that have been shown to improve overall wellbeing by improving focus, clarity, and communication, and by reducing stress and anxiety.

We work directly with you to tailor our core curriculum to the specific needs of your organization.

Together, we will collaborate:

  • To understand the specific needs of your group or staff and develop the appropriate balance of course content.

    In the past, we have offered trainings that expand and offer more in-depth focus on self and collective care, for example, for groups with a high level of burnout.

    In another case, we offered content to improve healthy, non-violent communication.


  • To determine the time and investment appropriate for your organization or group.

    We have offered everything from a refined, basic version of this curriculum in as short as 3 hours, to a more in-depth version with more space for community discussion and reflection over two full work days.
